From Creed:
The exceptional Aventus was inspired by the dramatic life of a historic emperor, celebrating strength, power and success. Introduced in 2010 and crafted by the deft hand of Sixth Generation Master Perfumer Olivier Creed in collaboration with his son Erwin, this scent has grown to become the best-selling fragrance in the history of the brand. Olivier created its iconic name derived from a (“from”) ventus (“the wind”), illustrating the Aventus man as destined to live a driven life, ever galloping with the wind at his back toward success. Aventus is a sophisticated blend for individuals who savor a life well-lived.
Aventus starts out with a blast of sweet, fruity freshness with sprightly bergamot, crisp apple and pineapple fighting for dominance.
The opening lasts about 15 minutes on me, its fleeting and gives way quickly to the juicy black currant and smoked woody birch.
There is a hint of liquid jasmine similar to Polo Modern Reserve in the middle to bridge the top and the middle.
The base shows this fragrance’s mall side IMO. Big on Ambroxan and Timbersilk.
For me, the mid of this fragrance lasts quite a long time, a good 6-8 hours on my skin.
The base will last me another 6 hours+. It’s a dance between scratchy, fresh ambroxan and the dark woody birch.
I have caught light whiffs of oakmoss at the very end as well.
Projection on my skin isnt monstrous like some claim, its pretty moderate but persistent.
Batches tested: 12J01, 12E02, 13U01 – They all smell the same to me.

Summary
Decent, but nothing more than a mall fragrance with a few interesting bits thrown in.
Contrary to the hype, there’s more to our hobby than this. Much more.
