Ends more sweet, ambery with sandalwood, a quirky, fruity twang and a bit of dried saliva.

Egoiste is an oriental woody fragrance with a sweet touch that has changed over the decades. Chanel has done a good job with reformulating this one at least twice. It has gone from more of a woody spicy at its inception to an ambery oriental today. The quality of the sandalwood has decreased from more creamy and dense (Santalum album) to more sour and dry (Santalum spicatum). That’s ok, the sour sandalwood goes with the mulled fruit and spices.

Either way, its recommended for anyone looking to smell timeless, sophisticated and retro without the baggage of materials that may smell dated.

Good longevity around 6-8 hours and noticeable reach.
